Les Jardin des Plantes
I walked along
a magic garden
the sun lent me her shine
so I could admire the flowers she raised
in all their color
“Tranquil”
they whispered all day long
the crows bathed in the springs
children played
in secret passage ways
The magic garden
became my favorite wine
I forgot where I was
I didn’t need music—
I didn’t need music
a beautiful girl
asked to brush my hair.
a magical garden,
indeed.
When I left the garden,
my magic broke
sound returned so blaring
I needed music again.
“Tranquil”
they whispered no longer.
a face awaited in the concrete
time began its slow descent
to the end
of a beautiful dream
