I will not give a broken car
or a house on fire
or a dead battery
or a pen without ink
that would be pointless
they could be going somewhere
they could need shelter
they could need power
they could need to tell their story
and I would be in their way
because I gave them something
that would not work
and asked that they take it anyways.
So I will fill the tank
build my home
recharge
gather my thoughts
and someday
I will give someone the world
